Accessibility Statement
The Long-Term Care Connects team is committed to offering a website that is accessible to everyone. This website has been designed to accommodate different circumstances or abilities and provide a user-friendly experience. To help achieve this we followed the framework set forth by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0, Level AA), published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)1. The WCAG provides a helpful framework to make website content more accessible for those with differing abilities. Long-Term Care Connects recognizes that web content can be dynamic and is often changing. We chose Wix as our website platform because it has advanced accessibility features when compared to other options and it is compliant with WCAG guidance2. We note that full compliance may not always be possible throughout the whole website. However, we are constantly working towards reaching full compliance to the WCAG 2.0, Level AA with strict adherence. Our team is located in multiple Canadian provinces and we have selected Ontario as our physical location for website governance purposes. As a public website posted after January 1, 2021, all content posted is legally required to meet “WCAG 2.0 Level AA other than criteria 1.2.4 (live captions) and 1.2.5 (pre-recorded audio descriptions)”.
